Oyάte Wóokiye was selected by five Maryland VANs stores and one Virginia store (e.g., Annapolis, Towson, Wheaton, Montgomery, Whitemarsh, and Tyson's Corner, VA) to receive their monthly charitable donations in which we feel honored and blessed. We strongly believe “our skaters’ shred like pros, so let’s gift them shoes like pros.”
In August 2016, Oyate Wookiye (For the People) represented The TOBY CLASSIC, it was 1 of 12 organizations selected to present at the Natives Americans in Philanthropy Generation Indigenous in Washington DC; A storyteller event. Jeanne Eagle Bull, my sister, stood in The White House and bared our souls as our story was shared.

Road to Rushmore - Skaters meet pro skater Hot Shot Handle Tour
As we continue to grow so does Toby’s dream and vision – we receive donations from national and local contributors (e.g., Zumiez, Vans Off the Wall). In 2017, Kendall Kearns, former Zumiez Manager (who we call misun, means lil brother in Lakota), hosted the Road to Rushmore Pro Skate Team fundraiser event (Skate Demo). We were “blessed” as the recipient organization to receive the funds raised for our Wolakota Skate Camp.
We are excited about our growing partnership with Dead Pawn Skateboards,
CEO Leander Begay of the Navajo Nation in Arizona. Our partnership grew into friendship and we consider each other family. In the Lakota culture, we honored Leander with presenting him with a Lakota star quilt blanket. To us, he is our thiblo”, which means “big brother” in the Lakota language. The Skaters have expressed enthusiasm and are proud of the culturally-infused artwork on the
skateboard decks. Since 2019, our talented thiblo, Leander has designed an annual commemorative Toby Classic skate deck.
